I've had this in mind ever since I first heard Rukia's name. It helps if you remember that Lugia's Japanese name is Rugia (that's why I use his Japanese name in the last panel -- makes the pun work better). Also, the difference between a "k" sound and a "g" sound in Japanese comes down to two little dots....
I don't really think the confrontation between Byakuya and Ichigo happens this way -- it's been a year since I've read or seen any Bleach, and I didn't want to take the time to do any research beyond the char designs. Especially since I was 90% sure the battle didn't have anything close to a moment like this, and then I would still have to depart from canon.
(I wonder if anyone will get the VOT joke..... and, no, wikipedia won't help you.)
EDIT: Actually, now
wikipedia will help you... but ~
bluchimera got it -- It's
voice
onset
time: in brief, the difference between voiced and voiceless consonants. Linguistics joke... ^_^U
Ichigo Kurosaki & Byakuya Kuchiki (c) Kubo Tite and Shonen Jump
Lugia (c) Nintendo, Gamefreak, Satoshi Tajiri, etc.
How'd Byakuya-sama capture Lugia in the first place? And with a regular POKEBALL of all the different kinds? I spent hours chucking Ultra Balls at that thing! Okay, next time I try to catch a Legendary, I'll ask Byakuya-sama to capture it for me. XD
There's not enough Bleach/Pokemon on the internet.
